BENNY DAVIS MUSIC

Improv has been such a big part of my life and career that I have taken for granted so long, I only recently thought I should add a page for it on my website.

I've been playing improv shows since 2005, playing weekly at Sydney University Theatresports, as well as with Impro Australia's regular show Scared Scriptless.

I've been doing it for 20 years.

Since then I've provided improvised musical accompaniment for hundreds, maybe even thousands of shows; Theatresports competitions, doubles improv, improvised musicals, live Dungeons and Dragons podcasts; improvised science fiction movies, and even some silent movie screenings like the OG improvisers of yesteryear.

I've performed everywhere from upstairs at The Roxbury, downstairs at The Chippo, all the way to the Belvoir, the Enmore, and even The Sydney Opera House. And once at the Singapore Art & Science Museum. That was a cool gig.

As well as the grown ups' shows, I've been lucky enough to play at schools all around NSW for the annual Schools Theatresports Competition, seeing a new generation of hilarious improvisers learn their skills.

My point is, I'm like SO good at it now. Honestly took me about 17 years to feel like I knew what I was doing but I think I'm there.

Anyway here's a lovely review I got recently, from another professional muso no less so there's actually substance to her opinion. Even if she doesn't know the difference between compliment and complement.
